"I'm still not sold on either Judiciary or Fine Polishing. The Judiciary seems a bit useless now. Why would I go through all that bureaucracy when I can just propose the fix myself, and it will stand a better chance of passing? It means I'm not proposing something more interesting, but at this point in the game we've already got enough going on that it's not such a big deal."
Its a faster fix. 3 days instead of 5 can be quite important. And besides, it may be weak now, but who is to say anything about the future... maybe we could make normal proposals illegal.... or taxed.
"Similar with Fine Polishing. If a proposal in Voting has a known substantial problem, then I'm going to vote No on it and demand a fixed version. Having a Fine Polishing officer isn't going to change that, because there's no guarantee that he will actually fix the proposal. Again, it just seems like so much bureaucracy that I'd rather not use."
62 passed and seems to have some defects in it that weren't seen until just after it passed. What about those small mistakes that are overlook-able by most people? Or one discovered late?
"Finally, it has just occurred to me that there should be a limit to how much tax can be set for any particular action. Otherwise, taxable actions can be stopped altogether by making the tax larger than anyone can afford."
Two things I have to say about this. 1: Weekly reelections. 2: The holder of the office doesn't gain anything for taxes. The only thing taxes can do so far is be given to the Universal Repair office to be turned into new squares or stop board decay.
