I figured the rent should be representative of the cost to build the house/hotel, and thus those buildings should be worth the time and effort to build. I chose $100 and $1000 since the price of building a house/hotel is a large number of logs, which are quite valuable, not in terms of money, but in terms of the one day to chop them down. (I think we had a discussion earlier about this when dealing with the cost of building a store). But I can see how this could be open to interpretation, so if the proposal gets rejected because of this, I'll try resubmiting it with lower rent values.
