The successor of a square is the square which has the lowest number greater than the number of the square in question. The successor of the highest numbered square is Square #1. A square is said to be the predecessor of its successor.
So squares still exist? Are the squares part of the universe, or does each player occupy both a square and a point in space?
And the update rate won't be nearly as high as we would like it to be, simply because this website runs off of the same computer I use daily, and too many updates would slow down everything else on my computer. I'm not sure what a good update rate would be, so perhaps the rule could specify that the update rate can be changed by me at any time. That way I could implement a dynamic update rate that changes based on whether or not I'm using my computer and the complexity level of the calculations.
